The Yosemite Landscapes...
definitely bring to mind the idea of a stone forest.
But in my mind this term will forever be linked to the bathtubs I hope to find in Heaven
I came upon Stone Forest about 15 years ago while managing and purchasing stone inventories for a retail landscape supply center. If you are enraptured by stone as I am, then just browsing amazing website will make your heart vibrate with love for beauty.
Placing a wabi basin at the sales counter of the hectic retail center just elevated the grounding granite frequency in the space and definitely created calm moments on busy days. Not only does stone reverberate the ancient wisdom on its own, but when touched by a true artist and formed into a water vessel the ancient memory flows into your soul if you let it. This is harmony made manifest and visible.
Combining water into this earth element with bodily immersion into the flow and substance of such stuff as dreams are made on, and I believe that upon closing your eyes a sensation of heaven will arise with the steam. Aaaahhh.
The naked truth can make itself know when we approach it with calm and reverence. Soak, ponder and surely dream of peaceful worlds and loving beings.
“We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.” -Shakespeare The Tempest
What better way to wander through the tempestuous landscapes of life than with the materials that made our living vessel possible. We are born of a substance of the below, and we see who we are really when we soar above. And when this phase of gravity releases us, one way or another we rise again into the field of many names, but singular silence.
Who doesn't know the profound Sound of Silence as harmonized by Simon and Garfunkel? Go there. Find it. And remember this is from where we come and go, while oceans hold the ebb and flow of worldly time.
Philosophers of every age only want to Know. But the Artist may live and breathe this substance, and from it gain the seeds to sow.
I was asked recently for assistance in finding a sitting stone as a grave marker. How better to mark a life, a love, and a lingering essence, than this. I recommended Stone Forest pebble seat of Onyx,
The vibrational properties of onyx includes " alleviating the state of grief, allowing it to pass like the shadow of a leaf floating in the wind" and additionally acts to "induce the bringing-together of those of like minds and goals". Quoted from from Love Is In The Earth -Melody
Stone Forest is a group of artisans and designers focused on bringing the elegant simplicity of natural materials into the home and garden. They say on their website "We take our lead from nature’s blue print, emphasizing the quiet beauty of stone". YES to this.
