George W Carey Holds A Key

George W Carey lived in a different era, and likely in an unseen realm. He was born 1845 and died 1924. He was a homeopathic physician, and also an occultist working with religion, astrology, anatomy, minerals. biochemistry. In his work on cell salts he was influenced greatly by Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schüssler whol lived from 1821 to 1898. Schüssler is barely known in our time, sadly.

Carey lived and published in Los Angeles California during the same years of the early period of Manly P Hall. The legacies of each of these people arequite interesting, as so many of the early 20th century L.A. personalities are.

Some players live on and become revered, while others were became part of the Lost L.A., either covered over or hidden away. Carey wrote and published more than a few great works, and from my reading he shed a more in depth lighting into the occult world than Manly P Hall.

I have read a large portion of the writings of both these men and both have a definite place on the ladder.

In my opinion, from research and much reading, Manly Hall was young when he wrote his Magnum Opus, and his work appeals to the young. This is very important because everyone is esoterically young at some point.

George Carey came from a different background and an earlier era than Hall. In fact Carey was an American contempory to European Rudolf Steiner, both on a similar mission during that time period.

In the 2013 publishing of The Zodiac and the Salts of Salvation Inez Perry wrote a nine page -In Memoriam- preface. In this, regarding Carey, she writes

" He mapped out too much work, too many lecutres. He felt he must not lose a moment, that the great message must be given without ceasing, humanity's need was so great and the time was so short."

Similar sentiments have been attributed to Steiner as well. Steiner died March 1925, Carey died November 1924. Both believed humanity was falling deep into materialism. Were they right?

Each of these key contributors of ancient wisdom produced works that take some effort to absorb, to take in and fully grasp. It takes time.

We have to use the ladder to reach the higher realms. The ancients didn't build an elevator to the higher knowledge. We are meant to use those muscles that get stronger as each step up and down is climbed.

An elevator may offer a fast ride to a higher view of the material world, but you haven't been elevated if you fail to build the spiritual muscle that comes step by step.

Steiner and Carey each offer an approach to the same realm but through different doors. Steiner is abstract, a bit dreamy but deep, and you have to want to hear what he whispers. Carey is voicing his message loud and clear and publicly for all. But for some who do not speak his particular language or misunderstand his mix of intelligences his message may not get through. But they are both leading you up and down the corridor of the Temple of Ancient Wisdom.
