Gypsum & Selenite

Gypsum, in crystal formation is selenite, in the form of masses it is alabaster, and in fibrous shapes it is called gypsum.

According to Melody in her encyclopedic work Love Is In The Earth,  the fibrous gypsum stone;

 “ can be used to mold ones character toward both the ideals of growth an improvement.”.      “ It also helps one to sustain the self when events of life are ‘happening to quickly’.

and continuing with more information

"The energy, although always stimulating the activation of the crown chakra, acts to provide the ‘fibers to tether’ one to focus.”   ...“ It has also been used by the ancient tribes to stimulate fertility.”

Melody’s discussion of selenite, the transparent variety of crystallized gypsum, is lengthy and elbaorative.  Among a few highlights that will be expanded on here are the stones ability to bring about;

“clarity of the mind expanding ones awareness of the self…”

And “ It allows one to access the interior of the physical body in order to understand existing disorders, providing information with respect to the ‘fix.”

...used to assist “… the protective membrane linings which surround the cell…”.

And selenite with copper formation has been labeled as the ‘Venus of the Alchemists’ and may bring powers of transmutation…and “tend to bring the system of alchemy to life…”

The qualities of selenite and gypsum crystal and stone formations have barely been touched on here.  There is so much information in these and other books that the point of this article is merely to highlight a bit of information, draw attention to the definite relationship of the uses of both crystal and mineral, astral and physical forces, and refer those interested to the key resources that can provide more in depth study.

Having offered a few qualities and uses of the stone let's look at the  mineral or cell salt substance of gypsum and explore the interplay of physical and astral qualities . keep reading
