Skimming a few pages of this book written in 1952 is interesting. The subtitle itself captured my notice. What was the "BIG CHANGE" starting in the 1900's?

This was published 70 years ago? And yet it sounds so familiar. It seems like someone lit a match at the turn of the last century and today we have a roaring fire.
Anyone who has a burning desire to answer that question- What Have We Got Here? -could dive in to books like this one.
Subtitle of the book is America Transforms Itself 1900-1950. The author writes in the Forward " This book is an attempt to sketch some of the major changes which took place during the first half of the twentieth century".
Its an eye opening read to compare what was changed in the last century to what is changing in this century.
